‘Making the Transition’ - 2018

MTT

Never mind ‘Plan B’! ‘Plan A’ should include preparing for career transition, at the earliest opportunity.

With help from the PFA, understand and consider how to prepare for life beyond football. Prepare to make the transition before that inevitable time comes when someone else decides on your footballing future.

Hosted by esteemed PFA member and football pundit, Don Goodman, the PFA workshop will enable you to gain a greater understanding of key techniques and available support.

The workshop will guide PFA members on preparing for career transition. The morning session uses psychometric profiling to identify behavioral preferences and match to appropriate career options. This is led by Olympic gold medalist, Derek Redmond.

Former Northern Ireland international and sports presenter, Paul McVeigh, will use his keynote speech to talk about ‘mind strengthening’ and his work as owner of ThinkPRO, his mental performance company.

Following lunch, split into groups and benefit from the networking session where we will adopt a ‘speed dating’ scenario to allow all attendees access to various support providers from business, recruitment, finance, education, entrepreneurship and well-being.

A professional C.V. will be provided to all PFA members who attend through sports consultancy, Sport Careers Ltd.
